Building on Far East air freight business
Dublin-based global aviation services group ASL Aviation Holdings has posted strong financial results for 2021, with revenues up 24.4% on 2020.
The ASL Group, which includes ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France and ASL Airlines United Kingdom in Europe, reported profits of EUR 43.6 million after tax and revenue of EUR 1,131.5 million with cash reserves growing 46.3% year-on-year to EUR 193.2 million.
The year saw strong performances in all business segments with ASL’s long-haul freight routes, particularly between Europe and China, being a key factor.
A new service to the Far East has just been launched on 1 October, with a twice weekly B747-400F of ASL Airlines Belgium, linking its Liège hub and Tokyo NRT. Initially, the service is operated via Astana (NQZ) or Almaty (ALA), Kazakhstan. (ah)
