Building a vehicle hub at Dunkirk

Ceva Logistics has signed a contract with the port of Dunkirk to develop a new finished vehicle logistics site on a 9.5 ha plot. Located in the eastern part of the port, the hub will be used for export and import via maritime routes and include vehicle reception and storage areas, as well as loading and unloading areas for trains and trucks.

With an annual capacity of around 47,000 vehicles – set to grow to 95,000 in the next year – the site will act as a gateway into France’s battery valley and e-mobility ecosystem.

Ceva will double the capacity to 20 hectares in the medium term and work to create multimodal solutions at the port. It expects to speed up turnaround times with the implementation of a rail spur and the use of its fleet of 3,000 trucks and 3,000 car-carrier wagons. Constructions on the site will start in October 2024. (mk)
