Broekman enlarges Benelux footprint
Rotterdam-headquartered Broekman Logistics, with branches in South Asia and Europe, has taken over the Belgian activities of Freight Forwarder Ipsen Logistics, further strengthening its position in the Benelux region.
Following the acquisition of chemical warehousing activities in the Port of Antwerp, in late 2018, Broekman Logistics now hopes to benefit from Ipsen Logistics’ freight forwarding portfolio which includes heavy lift and project cargo, chemical and pharma, and industrial and construction machinery.
The team of seven freight forwarding specialists will be fully integrated into the Belgian organisation. It began operating under the Broekman Logistics flag in late December.
Back in September last year, Ipsen made public its sale of its operative business in Germany as well as its national subsidiaries in Belgium, Poland and Malaysia to Gebrüder Weiss. (sh)
