Boosting efficiency by 200%
The collaboration between Sportano, a Poland-based sports retailer, and JD Logistics has improved operational efficiency by 200%, thanks to an array of tech solutions that the logistics provider has implemented at the retailer’s warehouse.
With an inventory of over 100,000 product types, from fishhooks to skis, Sportano had been facing a number of logistical challenges. Furthermore, sales of sports equipment and sportswear often vary from season to season.
JD Logistics therefore decided to install technology-based solutions including automated guided vehicles with interchangeable storage receptacles and a smart warehousing control system in its partner’s warehouse. The diverse inventory can now be managed and controlled much more efficiently than previously. (mk)
