Bolloré and MSC clinch deal in Africa
White smoke is rising. The negotiations between the French Bolloré Group and the Geneva-headquartered MSC, which were announced in December 2021, have come to a successful conclusion.
On 31 March 2022, the Bolloré Group inked the contract of sale with the MSC Group for 100% of the shares of Bolloré Africa Logistics comprising all transport and logistics activities of the Bolloré Group in Africa. The deal was based on an enterprise value, net of minority interests, of EUR 5.7 billion. The employees’ representative bodies had the last say and voted in favour of the transaction.
The completion of the sale, subject to obtaining regulatory authorisations and approval by the competent cartel authorities as well as the agreement of some of Bolloré Africa Logistics' counterparties, is planned for the end of Q1/2023. (sh)
