Board executive officer for Long Beach
Long Beach’s board of commissioners has promoted Shana Espinoza as executive officer of the board to assist the five-member panel in key policy research, recommendations and decisions in governing the port of Long Beach, among other duties.
Espinoza started working for the port in November 2007 as an executive assistant to the board of harbour commissioners, then, from June 2013, she served as a commission administrative officer. She was promoted to deputy chief of staff to the board in June 2018, and, since September 2020, she has been acting chief of staff to the board.
Prior to joining the harbour department, Espinoza held various positions within the city, starting as a special projects assistant for the department of economic development in June 1998. (amh)
