BMW group extends contract with Bergé Gefco
Bergé Gefco has extended its contract with the BMW group until 2025. The logistics specialist will take over various services for the BMW and Mini brands, including the transport of new and used vehicles and handling, storage and maintenance in the logistics hubs.
To this end, Bergé Gefco will work closely with the retailers of the two brands. In Spain, sales of BMW and Mini cars amount to about 75,000 new vehicles and 15,000 used cars per year. Add to that the storage of around 15,000 vehicles and the provision of other services.
BMWs from three plants in Germany are transported to Bergé-Gefco’s logistics centre in Ciempozuelos, south of Madrid by rail. BMWs from a fourth plant in Germany and from the USA, and the Mini cars from Great Britain and the Netherlands are transhipped in Bergé Gefco’s logistics hub in the port of Santander. (mw)
