Blind spot warning stickers in France
On 1 January 2021, a new decree entered into force in France which requires heavy goods vehicles whose authorised total weight exceeds 3.5 t to be equipped with warning stickers to signal the position of blind spots to other road users. This obligation applies to vehicles travelling in an urban environment.
The aim of the new regulation is to increase the protection of vulnerable road users and reduce the high number of road accidents in France.
The official stickers must be visible on the sides as well as the rear of the vehicle but detailed instructions regarding how and where to fix them have not yet been published, as the association of European vehicle logistics (ECG) informed. (ben)
