Black cat touches the sky
Yamato Holdings (YHD) and Japan Airlines (JAL) are planning to launch air freighter operations between Tokyo and Hokkaido, Kyushu and Okinawa in April 2024.
Since logistic providers including YHD are facing a law amendment concerning overtime work hours, YHD needs to secure the transportation capacity for special areas. This suits JAL well, as the airline is currently downsizing its fleet while increasing the frequency of domestic operations.
YHD will introduce the freighters and entrust the JAL Group with operation. The airports served may be Narita, Haneda, New Chitose, Kitakyushu and Naha. Operation will commence in April 2024. (cd)
