Big prospects for smaller Californian airports
In April, the second straight month of better than 20% gains, more than 75,000 t (+26.6%) of commercial cargo were loaded and unloaded at Ontario airport. From January to April, the Southern Californian airport handled more than 261,000 t of freight (+16.5%).
In Northern California, Aeroterm has completed a fully leased new Class A, 3,760 sqm facility at Sacramento SMF. Cargo at the state's capital city is performing very well during the pandemic as its international airport saw air freight/mail volumes rising 10.3%/353% in April.
Through the first four months, more than 41,700 t of freight and mail were loaded and unloaded (+23.1%), mostly for West Air, Amerijet and Fedex, while UPS and Redding Aero contributed for the 6.2% increase of cargo volumes (22,700 t) at Sacramento Mather airport (MHR). (ah)
