Big plane, big plans for new Uzbek cargo carrier
A nose-loading B747-200F has become Uzbekistan’s first large-capacity cargo aircraft (105 t). It is operated by the new cargo carrier My Freighter, based in Tashkent. Before its arrival from Indonesia at the end of last month, cargo planes of the Central Asian country had a capacity of only 50 t.
General Director Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov: "In creating the company, we set a goal: to turn Uzbekistan into a centre for international cargo transportation. An analysis of air transport trends shows that this market is expected to grow exponentially in the next five years."
This is why My Freighter plans to increase its fleet to 20 freighters over the next five years, including the acquisition of five more B747F. The company will reveal more details during the 18th "Translogistica Uzbekistan 2022", which is taking place from today, 1 November to 4 November. (ah)
