Bhat follows von Boxberg – again
Only a few days after Lufthansa Cargo reported that Dorothea von Boxberg is going to step down from her position as CEO to become CEO of Brussels Airlines, the German cargo carrier announced that the current CCO, Ashwin Bhat, will take over von Boxberg’s role on 15 April. As the new CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, Bhat will continue to head the product and sales departments.
Born in India, Bhat studied chemistry at the University of Mumbai and began his professional career at Airline Financial Support Services in India. In 1999, Bhat joined the former Swisscargo, where he held positions in revenue, transport and global area management.
From 2015 until 2021, when he was appointed to the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo, Bhat headed the cargo business segment at Swiss International Air Lines. (ah)
