Between two remembrances

After playing a major role in the commemoration the 80th anniversary of D-Day, yesterday, 6 June 2024, a fleet of legendary DC-3 type aircraft is heading further into Europe. Coordinated by D-Day Squadron (DDS), DC-3 variants representing World War II and Cold War vintage aircraft "crossed the pond" from the USA in mid-May to the UK, and then flew over the English Channel to Normandy, France. After that, they will continue their journey to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift.

Here is DDS' schedule of the 2024 Legacy Tour:

- until 9 June:  Normandy events and jump operations - Cherbourg (CER)

- 10 June: Cherbourg – Wiesbaden (ETOU)

- 15-16 June: "Berlin 75" - US Army Airfield hosts Berlin 75 event, Wiesbaden Army Airfield on Clay Kaserne
