Bertschi opens intermodal terminal in Belgium


The Swiss specialist for intermodal chemical logistics has started operations at the newly completed Antwerp Zomerweg Terminal (AZT) in Belgium. The facility will focus on the stowage of dangerous goods (DG) and non-DG products destined for transport in tank containers and trimodal services by rail, barge and truck.

 

The AZT is equipped with four 650 m rail sidings and is designed to accommodate full trains. Built over 60,000 sqm, the terminal has space for storing 2,500 teu of products in containers, including 1,290 teu specifically allocated for DG products in tank containers.

 

Bertschi also operates transload facilities in Rotterdam, in Jurong Island, Singapore and Zhangjiagang, China. (ben)
