Bertschi adds services in Spain
The Swiss group has launched a new rail service link connecting its own terminal in La Canonja/Tarragona and the public rail terminal in Barcelona Morrot, which increases its operating capacity and its portfolio of sustainable transport services in Spain.
Bertschi’s intermodal hub in Tarragona has a storage capacity of 1,200 teu, a heating station and a bonded warehouse. Previously, cargo had to be trucked to the Constantí rail terminal, 12 km from Tarragona.
Now, 40 containers can be loaded per trip, which reduces road journeys between Tarragona and Barcelona by 400,000 km per year, the transport specialist said. (ben)
