Baxter, DHL and Gerlach bridge Brexit
The Nottingham-based British forwarder Baxter Freight and the Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL Freight have agreed on a partnership for freight transports in Great Britain as well as between the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
While Baxter opens its network to DHL clients, DHL Freight will offer Baxter Freight access to its European general cargo network as well as to its intermodal offerings. DHL Freight plans to use Baxter Freight as a handling agent in the UK and to continental Europe in the future, with daily traffic between the UK and DHL's European network. Both companies have already been cooperating in Northern Europe since 2017.
Baxter has also launched a further partnership with Gerlach Customs services. The partnership sees customer service driven Baxter Freight become the UK sales representative for Gerlach. Gerlach’s portfolio covers all common customs clearance services such as import, export, transit and premium services such as customs control tower and customs consultancy. (sh)
