Basel Westport Shuttle increases frequency
Starting today, 12 September 2023, Contargo is adding two more trains to the roundtrip services of its Basel Westport Shuttle (BWS). The capacity increase complements the existing frequency of currently five departures from Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and the new Basel Rhine port in Switzerland.
The additional BWS roundtrips will be handled or transhipped directly at the Contargo terminal in the Rhine port of Basel Kleinhüningen, whereby the cargo will be processed overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday and from Friday to Saturday, Contargo said. The service offers an eco-friendly and direct rail connection between the Dutch seaport terminals and the Swiss Rhine port. (ben)
