Balimpex becomes Dutch
Rotterdam-headquartered Customs Support is taking over Balimpex in Basel. Founded in 1981, Balimpex is an experienced provider of customs clearance and complementary logistics services.
With about 70 employees at ten locations, the company serves its customers at all strategic border crossings between Switzerland and Germany, from Basel to the Lake of Constance and at the French border crossing at Saint-Louis near Basel.
Frank Weermeijer, CEO of Customs Support Group, sees "this acquisition as an important step in further expanding its geographic footprint in Europe."
Customs Support Group employs around 1,000 customs professionals and is currently active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, UK, Poland, Italy and Switzerland. (sh)
