Bahamas Maritime Authority chooses new deputy director
The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) has appointed Captain Ghulam Hussain as deputy director (maritime affairs) with responsibility for Bahamas representation at IMO and intergovernmental meetings. Hussain joins the BMA having recently held a similar position at the Nautical Institute, where he was technical manager and head of the IMO delegation.
Captain Dwain Hutchinson, managing director and CEO of The BMA commented: “Hussain brings to this post a comprehensive list of qualifications and accomplishments. He will be taking over from Marie Caillerie, whose contributions have been greatly appreciated by us all. Her expertise, professionalism and competence solidified and enhanced The Bahamas leadership role in the regulatory process and maintained our quality reputation with our global stakeholders." (mw)
