Back in the outback: GW supports solar racing
It was solar energy that propelled ETH’s Solar Racing Team across 3,000 km through the Australian outback. The Centauri team was supported by Gebrüder Weiss and achieved 12th place in the "Challenger" category.
The route led from Darwin to Adelaide, with the team covering 500 km per day at speeds of up to 85 km/h. The team plans to travel to Australia again in two years. Aaron Griesser, propulsion and control expert: "The motivation for 2025 is great and we are giving everything to ensure that our vision of an eco-friendly future continues to progress."
aCentauri is now embarking on its journey home. Thanks to Gebrüder Weiss, the solar car and the racing equipment can return to the Technopark undamaged. The cargo is transported by sea freight with a last-mile delivery by truck. (mk)
