Autonomous truck integrated into daily business
The Einride autonomous vehicle has begun daily transports finished goods in the USA. The deliveries take place between GE Appliances’ manufacturing facility and warehouse in Selmer, TN, Monday through Thursday, enabling up to seven shuttles a day.
The autonomous operation produces zero tailpipe emissions. The long-term deployment of the vehicle follows previous pilots, first in a gated environment and followed by the first public road pilot in the USA.
The new vehicle is part of a larger interoperability project in Selmer to create an automated logistics flow that improves employee ergonomics and safety around the loading docks and increases efficiency. (ben)
