"Authorised receiver" starts handling UIA in Milan
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has awarded Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) a 18 months cargo handling contract in Milan. Starting today, 1 April 2021, WFS will handle cargo onboard three weekly B737 flights (daily from June) connecting Milan MXP with Kiev. This is the second recent contract win of the ground handler in Milan, where it just became the first handler to be awarded authorised receiver status by Italy’s customs authority.
In December, WFS, which opened a 8,800 sqm facility at the airport in late 2018, already announced a new agreement with Asiana Airlines for its three weekly B747F Seoul flights, boosting its local volumes by a further 15,000 t a year.
Overall, WFS now serves eleven airline customers at MXP, including American Airlines, China Eastern, China Cargo and Air Serbia.
