Austrian carrier adds more intermodal services

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has launched a non-stop transfer service offering two round trips per week between Salzburg (Austria) and Augsburg (Germany). It has also added a new weekly round trip from Krusevac (Serbia), via the Hungarian terminal Bilk (Budapest) to Duisburg (Germany) to its network to and from Serbia. Krusevac is a major economic centre and regional railfreight hub in the Western Balkans.

The Budapest terminal connects this area with markets in Central Europe. As one of Europe's largest inland ports and logistics hubs for international freight transport, Duisburg provides onward connections for goods flows to the Benelux countries, RCG said. (ben)
