Auckland Airport’s CEO to step down
After Ports of Auckland, the city's airport must now also find a new CEO. Adrian Littlewood, CEO of Auckland airport, has announced that he will step down towards the end of 2021, after nearly nine years in this role. The board thanked him for his contribution to Auckland airport and New Zealand’s business community.
As Littlewood plans to take an extended break before deciding on his future career, Patrick Strange, Auckland airport’s chair, will soon start to search for a replacement among internal and external candidates.
Strange: “With the sudden and highly disruptive impact of Coved-19 on the company’s core business, Littlewood has led a business response that has not only ensured the health, safety and wellbeing of Auckland airport’s staff and travellers, but has also well prepared the business for the future.”
While the restart of travel to Australia and the Cook Islands has marked a key milestone for the company’s recovery, Littlewood will continue to work with the government and other partners to plan the border re-opening and the resetting of the airport infrastructure development’s programme. (amh)
