Attracting Eurasian transit container transportation
Intermodal operator Trans Container has signed a three-party agreement on cooperation with two Chinese forwarders to make transit container transportation from China to Europe more attractive and competitive.
The agreement was signed on the Chinese side by Shandong Jitie Land Port Group and Qingdao New Port Industrial and Logistics Development.
The aim is to increase the volumes of freight traffic to Europe as well as improve the efficiency of land border crossing points through cooperation with the Chinese Railways. The parties also intend to create the hub as well as a Chinese-Russian and Chinese-European centre of train maintenance. (ben)
