Astre launches new wines and spirits service
Wine sales in Europe generate revenues of about EUR 70 billion. Accelerated by the online trade, the share of bottled wines is increasing compared to wine sold in barrels. The European logistics network Astre is now launching a "wine & spirit" service to meet these changes in demand.
With more than 30 Astre partners and experts located in the major production and import countries, the service offers logistics solutions for wines and spirits comprising local collection and bundling of pallets directly in the wine-growing regions, a European network of certified logistics services providers and fast and simple distribution within and outside the Astre network, including customs handling and tax representation.
The company has been testing its new product since July. According to Julien Garioud, business development Astre, the network plans to handle around 5,000 pallets in the first few months, offering transports not only within the wine & spirit programme, but also international options that can be freely combined with the Astre Palet System Astre LTL sales channels.
