Asians record strong growth in intra-European shipping
Ocean Network Express (ONE), the Singapore-based carrier that integrated the container shipping businesses of the Japanese companies K Line, MOL and NYK, has achieved the highest capacity and market share growth among carriers in intra-European services over the past year, according to Alphaliner.
ONE’s market share rose from 1% (11,500 teu) to 2.6% (over 30,000 teu), with its regional fleet expanding from eight to 17 vessels, and average vessel size increasing by 350 teu. This growth is driven by ONE’s regional strategy, enhancing connectivity and offering tailored solutions for European markets.
“Our investments and partnerships have driven this rapid expansion," said Dan Miura, general manager of product development and intra-European trade at ONE Europe. ONE plans to launch new routes and increase capacity to meet growing customer demand and reinforce its position in the region. (ah)
