Ashanti Airlines wins tender for new Ghanaian airline
The UK based investment fund Zotus Group and the Ghanaian carrier Ashanti Airlines are working together to create a pan-African aviation hub in Accra.
The government of Ghana has confirmed that it has awarded Ashanti Airlines and its operational and financial partner t
he Zotus Group the tender to operate the national carrier, Ghana Airlines, out of Accra commencing in 2023. Ashanti Group was shortlisted among others through a competitive process and subsequently received cabinet approval for the strategic partnership on 24 February 2022.
The airline will be officially known as Ghana Airlines. Ghana Airlines will commence flights in 2023 with several domestic & regional routes, with global and European connections, including London Heathrow and New York (USA), to follow shortly thereafter. (cj)
