Arkas to add six new ships by 2028
Arkas is investing USD 360 million for six new eco-design container vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2028. This acquisition will increase the company’s fleet to 55 vessels and its total capacity to 112,230 teu.
The 4,300 teu vessels will be built by China's CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, with financing from CIMC Financial Leasing. They are designed to be eco-friendly, supporting Arkas' sustainability goals by reducing fuel consumption and emissions, while enhancing its global trade operations.
The investment strengthens the company’s role in Turkey's foreign trade, while CIMC Financial Leasing provides long-term financing for the expansion and rejuvenation of the fleet. (pb)
