Arkas Line/Hapag-Lloyd VSA starts operations
Arkas Line and Hapag Lloyd have concluded a new vessel sharing agreement (VSA) that is now being implemented after the Westmed Black Sea service (WBS), formerly operated by Emes Feedering, was taken over by Arkas Line and Hapag Lloyd yesterday (14 May).
The previous WBS was operated by four Emes vessels with a 1,500 teu capacity. This will be upgraded to four 2,500 - 2,700 teu ships provided by Arkas Line and Hapag Lloyd. Each line will operate two vessels with a 50-50% VSA split.
The rotation of the new weekly service has been slightly amended to Istanbul (Kumport-Marport), Burgas, Constanta (Csct DPW and Socep), Istanbul (Marport-Kumport), Gemlik (Borusan), Piraeus, Tangier (Eurogate), Casablanca, Piraeus, Gemlik (Borusan), Yarimca (DPW) and Istanbul (Kumport- Marport).
