Argentineans return

Today, 20 August 2020, Aerolíneas Argentinas resumes flights to New York after five months. The second flight scheduled since operations were temporarily suspended in mid-March will take off next Thursday, 27 August.

Meanwhile, Aerolíneas Cargo, the freight arm of Argentina's flag carrier, plans to acquire two A330-200F, the freight version of the widebody passenger aircraft, ten of which the Airline operates on long-haul flights. Several of these aircraft were converted for cargo transport during the corona crisis, but the South Americans apparently see opportunities in the business.

These pure freighters are scheduled to join the fleet of the airline, which is looking forward to celebrating its 70-year anniversary next December, by 2022. Skyteam member Aerolíneas Argentinas has already deployed B737F narrowbody freighters on some occasions in the past. (ah)
