Aramex's optimisation pays off
In Q1/2022, Aramex saw a rise in activities while cutting costs at the same time. Revenues went up by 2% to AED 1.45 billion (USD 390 million), especially pushed by the logistics & freight-forwarding business.
Improving operational efficiencies and cost, by the automation of warehouses, the implementation of AI solutions and the reorganisation of the last mile operations, helped drive profits to a growth of 3% to AED 47.0 million (12.8 million).
Thus, the company is starting to see a stabilisation in profitability margins. While revenue in the courier business dropped, domestic express revenue remained stable. The group is also looking forward to exploring and unlocking greater synergies with its strategic shareholders, Geopost / DPD Group and Abu Dhabi Ports. (sh)
