App shows alternative routes for trucks
With the start of the summer holidays, the truck driving bans on certain routes in Germany are back in force. The map of the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL), which shows suitable alternative routes, has been integrated into the app of Autobahn, the operator of Germany’s motorways for the first time this summer. It can be accessed conveniently via smartphone or tablet.
The holiday driving bans apply on numerous motorway and individual federal road sections up to and including 27 August 2022 on Saturdays between 7.00 h and 20.00 h for solo HGVs over 7.5 t additional total mass, for HGVs with trailers and for articulated vehicles. The motorway app is available for Android and IOS. (ben)
