Antonov continues to assemble new transport aircraft
The Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov is continuing to produce the AN-178 aircraft under quarantine conditions. As of last week, the preparatory works for jig assembly of the aircraft’s fuselage were completed. In total, 25 Ukrainian companies and about 30 European and North American suppliers are involved in the supply chain for the new AN-178.
In November 2019 Spets Techno Export company, part of the state concern Ukroboronprom, completed the procedure of signing a contract with Peru's ministry of interior for the supply of AN-178 medium transport aircraft. The deal opens up Latin American market for a new generation of Antonov aircraft. The ordered configuration will be capable of carrying up to 18 t of cargo. (ah)
