Another trio for Arkas
Arkas Line, which owns the largest fleet of container vessels in Turkey, has acquired three new vessels from MPC Container Ships, a Norwegian container operator. This expansion brings the carrier’s total fleet count to 50 vessels and increases its total capacity to 87,335 teu. The new vessels, named ‘Öykü A', ‘Onur G’ and the ‘Denis A’, contribute an additional 4,101 teu to the fleet.
Founded 76 years ago, Arkas offers weekly services in the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and to and from West Africa. The company also focuses on reducing its emissions. It has already achieved a 21% reduction since 2011, and is aiming for a 30% reduction by 2025, through continued operational improvements. This growth and environmental commitment reinforce Arkas Line’s significant role in Turkish foreign trade.
