Another shipper settles in Marseille Fos
Adeo, a Do-it-yourself and home improvements company, has chosen the port of Marseille Fos (France) as its new logistics base in southern Europe. In a two-stage initiative, the French multinational will occupy a 36,000 sqm warehouse at the Feuillane logistics park in Fos by the end of 2019, followed by a 90,000 sqm warehouse during 2022.
The newcomer is expected to generate container traffic of more than 10,000 teu per year and around 200 jobs. The buildings offer 12 m headroom and conform to the building research establishment environmental assessment method (BREEAM) with features such as solar roof panels and shaded parking areas.
Welcoming Adeo’s decision, the Marseille Fos port authority said that it underlined the port’s position as a competitive strategic crossroads for logistics in Europe and the Mediterranean. The two logistics zones in Fos already host other home improvements companies such as IKEA and Maisons du Monde. (kd)
