Another longest "domestic" flight
French Bee, a subsidiary of the Dubreuil Group, has made the world’s longest nonstop domestic commercial flight to date by flying one of its A350-900s from Papeete in French Polynesia to Paris and landing at Orly airport on 15 May 2020. The flight time to cover a route of more than 16,129 km was 16 hours and 49 minutes.
In contrast to the previous record set by Air Tahiti Nui with a B787-9 from Papeete to Paris CDG (15,715 km) the aircraft carried no passengers – in any case, Orly has been closed to passenger traffic since 31 March - but at least 5 t of cargo.
On 12 May, the A350 had carried out a cargo-only flight from Orly and bound for Tahiti with a stopover in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe). Aboard her bunkers, 20 t of medication. This flight, managed by Dubreuil subsidiary Hiline Cargo, was loaded by SIFA Logistics. (ah)
