Another gateway to Asia

Berlin-based airfreight booking platform welcomes new customer Philippine Airlines. Philippine Airlines is set to expand its marketing capacities for digital bookings through a new partnership with Cargo One. The Filipino national airline is currently also in the process of expanding its wide-body fleet.


From this autumn, forwarders can access the capacities of Philippine Airlines (PAL) for general cargo and perishable goods transport through Cargo One’s booking platform, with options to route the goods to Cebu, Clark and Davao through PAL’s hub.

 

PAL is now one of more than 60 airlines in Cargo One; it offers forwarders a combination of 37 international destinations in South and East Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East, 32 destinations in the Philippines and convenient regional connections.

 

Moritz Claussen, co-CEO and founder of Cargo One, said that his company is excited to launch PAL’s digital sales options and support the firm’s ambitious growth plans. “Cargo One continues to offer new capacity options to the freight forwarding market, an important tool through which our platform enables even the largest forwarders to win shipment orders faster, grow their business and serve their customers better,” Claussen pointed out.

 

Quick and inexpensive digital opening

 

Jason Siy, PAL’s vice-president for cargo activities, was keen to underline the fact that “an ability to manage strategic digital sales represents one of the key pillars of our digital transformation and continued growth. Our teams will work together closely to build tailored digital sales channels that will make the most of our strengths.”

 

Siy is convinced that Cargo One’s technology and experience will allow Philippine Airlines to quickly build up its digital sales with little capital outlay.
