Ankara's rail hub: links to all Turkish ports

Ankara’s intermodal terminal Baskent, Turkey, has opened its first rail line and a 700 m platform. It is operated by the Ankara Baskent organised industrial zone and Eti Logistics under the umbrella of Yilport Holding and recently processed its first train.

The hub is directly connected to all Turkish ports by rail, linking the centre of Anatolia with the country’s maritime terminals in less than 24 hours. It will function as a transfer hub to ship sea cargo to destinations within the country and will provide solutions for businesses operating in Ankara and the surrounding provinces, Yilport said. The new terminal has a capacity of 500 teu containers and 20 million t for dry bulk. (ben)
