André Wyss to chair board of directors from 2026
At its meeting on 21 August 2024, the Swiss government approved the proposed appointment of André Wyss to the SBB board of directors. Wyss is to be officially elected as a member of the board of directors at the SBB annual general meeting in April 2025 and will take over the chairmanship from Monika Ribar in 2026.
Wyss has been CEO of the Swiss construction and property services provider Implenia since 2018. Wyss is also a member of the board of directors of Ina Invest and a member of the board of partners of E. Merck. He is president of the ‘Statistisch-Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft Basel’ and designated president of the ‘Friends of the Baloise Session’.
SBB’s annual general meeting elects the members of the board of directors and the executive committee for a term of two years. As the sole shareholder of SBB, the Swiss Confederation exercises the powers of the general meeting. (cj)
