An e-truck for long-haul beer deliveries
The Swiss brewer Feldschlösschen used an e-truck for its beverage transport operations for the first time in 2013. It has gradually extended its fleet to a total of 20 fully electric Renault Trucks since then, recently adding a 44 t Renault Trucks E-Tech T.
With its six battery units of 90 kWh each, this unit has a capacity of 540 kWh and a range of 350 km. It is now being used to test the extent to which fully electric trucks can also be deployed on longer daily routes.
Initial experiences have been positive: the truck have even been able to exceed the range specified by the manufacturer from time to time, Feldschlösschen said. (ben)
