An automated wine and beer warehouse
V and B – Wine and Beer – will be inaugurating a new 7,200 sqm warehouse in Château Gontier sur Mayenne in January 2024, featuring Scallog robotics. This warehouse complements its existing 12,000 sqm facility.
The Goods to Man Scallog solution – 130 mobile shelves transported by five robots to two picking stations – will be installed above the unloading docks, to increase storage density.
The robotics solution was selected by V and B in April 2023. After an in-depth analysis, a steering committee was set up in summer 2023. The solution will be installed and the bottle stability in cartons thoroughly tested in October 2023, with the switchover scheduled for November 2023.
As the first company in Mayenne to be certified as a “Great Place to Work”, V and B hopes to improve the working conditions and well-being of its operators with the new Scallog system. (mk)
