An active year for Bertschi
Despite a 15% reduction in sales, the Swiss transport group Bertschi reported several successful projects in 2023. It opened its new chemical logistics centre, with a storage capacity of 25,000 t storage, in Zhangjiagang, China, in mid-2023.
Elsewhere in Asia, the group is planning a joint venture with a Japanese chemical logistics company, further expanding its network in the sector.
Bertschi also invested over 90 million in sustainability projects in Europe. This includes the launch of the first near-CO2-free supply chains with optimal first and last miles. Using hydrogenated vegetable oil as fuel for road operations further cuts emissions by 90% compared to conventional road transport. (mk)
