An 80% Nordic acquisition
Thoresen Transport in Norway was the next on the list: Danish provider Freja Transport & Logistics acquired 80% of Thoresen's shares in October 2021. Freja is part of the international group United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC).
In the current financial year, Thoresen Transport expects a turnover of a minimum of NOK 135 million (EUR 13.5 million). The Norwegian freight forwarder is based in Larvik and was founded in 1982 by the current owner Lars Thoresen and his brother Knut Thoresen. The company currently has 25 employees working in national and international transport, container transport and customs/forwarding.
Lars Thoresen remains at the head of Thoresen Transport and retains the remaining 20% of the shares. The company will also keep its name. The transaction price was not disclosed. (sh)
