Amur tigress treated as a princess
Last month, Aeroflot transported a tigress from the Russian Far East for treatment in Moscow Zoo’s centre for rare animal reproduction. The transfer took place on a scheduled flight from Vladivostok to Moscow.
The Amur Tiger Centre addressed the airline with a request to transport the wild cat, which was discovered injured aged four to five months in December 2021. Aeroflot decided to provide the transport free of charge.
The zoo's specialists made a perforated box measuring to transport the feline, which was delivered by a regular flight. Together with the tigress the container weighed 450 kg. Aeroflot made sure that it provided maximum comfort for the unusual passenger, who is expected to be taken into the international captive tiger conservation programme. (ah)
