Ammonia import terminal rises from the waters
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges is planning to open its new import terminal for sustainable ammonia by 2027. To assist with the import and storage of green energy and raw materials, the companies Fluxys, Advario Stolthaven Antwerp and Advario Gas Terminal are pooling their expertise in logistics, storage, and pipeline transport.
The future terminal in the port of Antwerp-Bruges will offer solutions for storage and transport by rail and inland waterway to the hinterland. A direct pipeline connection to industrial sites is also an option.
Facilities for the reconversion of ammonia into hydrogen will be built at the terminal. The hydrogen can then be fed into the Fluxys hydrogen network or loaded onto trucks, thus ensuring supplies throughout North Western Europe. (sh)
