Amerijet: regional vaccine distribution
Amerijet has delivered Covid-19 vaccines to the Caribbean and Central America on behalf of Mumbai-based Odyssey Logistics. The shipments were a part of India's gifted AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
Tim Strauss, CEO of the first US cargo carrier re-certified under the Iata CEIV Pharma programme in August 2020: "Delivering 350,000 doses of life-saving vaccines to destinations in our service region is something our entire company is proud of."
The vaccines bound for Jamaica, Guyana (photo) and Nicaragua, were transferred via Amerijet's Miami hub, where the carrier's modern 33,500 sqm facility includes a 3,700 sqm temperature-controlled handling centre designed to maintain the cold-chain integrity for refrigerated, frozen, and chilled products.
