American Airlines Cargo chilling with Jettainer
The ULD services provider Jettainer has welcomed American Airlines Cargo as a customer for its "cool management" service. The US carrier now has access to the 24/7 service of Jettainer's own Cool Center of Excellence in Abu Dhabi, which is specifically responsible for managing temperature-controlled ULDs.
After a successful test run, the facility in the UAE has since been managing the airline's entire fleet of reefer containers. The service includes the leasing, managing and positioning, as well as process-related monitoring, securing the complex interaction between shipper, forwarder and airline, and to some extent the owner of the containers.
This process entails risks that Jettainer minimizes. In addition, the service reduces costs that can arise, for example, due to positioning or overcapacity.
