Ambrogio opens seventh intermodal terminal
The new EUR 12 million terminal is located in Domegliara near Verona in Italy in a strategic position on the Brenner route. Currently, the terminal offers an intermodal connection with Neuss, Germany, with three departures per week in each direction.
This link makes it possible to serve north-eastern Italy, the Ruhr area in Germany and the Benelux countries, the company said.
The terminal at Domegliara is Ambrogio’s seventh in Europe and the third in Italy. With an area of 110,000 sqm, it is also the group's largest in Europe.
The site includes three tracks up to 700 m long, an office building and a yard. A gantry crane has been installed to handle the loading units, with the support of two reachstackers. Future plans include the addition of more tracks and the construction of a warehouse. (ben)
