Amazon Air now in Kansas City and Pittsburgh
An Amazon Air B737-800F touched down at Pittsburgh airport (PIT) for the first time last week, adding the Western Pennsylvanian airport to its expanding US cargo network. The airport describes the daily service as its "biggest cargo".
Through a partner lease agreement, Amazon Air will use 4,650 sqm of space at PIT, including an onsite area to sort packages bound for their next destination and managed by an Amazon logistics partner, Trego-Dugan Aviation.
Another new daily B737-800F daily service connects Kansas City airport (KCI) with Lakeland Linder airport near Tampa, FL.
Kansas City director of aviation Pat Klein: "The addition strengthens KCI’s impact as a regional economic engine."
Similar to the PIT business, a 3,150 sqm facility will be managed by an Amazon logistics partner, Prime Flight Cargo. (ah)
